Illicit Drug Residue Sampling and Analysis Kits (Clandestine Laboratory Remediation Swab Kits)

ChemCentre's llicit Drug Residue Sampling and Analysis Kit makes sampling and testing for methylamphetamine, ephedrine/pseudoephedrine, MDMA (ecstacy) and other illicit drug or precursor residues at your property easy.

These kits can be used identify and define levels of illicit drugs present on surfaces and/or confirm appropriate remediation has been completed.

Each kit contains the necessary guidelines, equipment and materials to allow for appropriate collection, packaging and return to ChemCentre for analysis.

10x10cm swabbing templates
Labelled plastic tube for each sample/blank swab
Instructional guide and video of how to take a sample by swabbing an area
Sampling information and request for analysis forms
Pre-addressed return express post bag for return of samples to ChemCentre

ChemCentre’s specialist drug chemists will undertake a comprehensive analysis of samples and will provide you with a full report outlining stating the total amount (if present) of methylamphetamine, ephedrine/pseudoephedrine and MDMA detected on each swab, assisting you with the clean-up of a clandestine laboratory or methylamphetamine contaminated site.

Please note that the only agency authorised to verify and approve the remediation of a property used for a clandestine laboratory is the relevant local government. We suggest that you contact your local government Environmental Health Officer prior to undertaking any sampling, swabbing or remediation of a property.

10 Swab Kit	$949 (includes GST)	This kit contains the necessary equipment and materials to allow for 10 sample swabs and one blank swab to be appropriately collected, packaged and returned to ChemCentre for analysis. ATesting for methylamphetamine, ephedrine/pseudoephedrine, MDMA for each swab is included in the price.*
20 Swab Kit	$1649 (includes GST)	This kit contains the necessary equipment and materials to allow for 20 sample swabs and two blank swabs to be appropriately collected, packaged and returned to ChemCentre for analysis. Testing for methylamphetamine, ephedrine/pseudoephedrine, MDMA for each swab is included in the price.*

*Testing for other illicit drug or precursor residues can be completed upon request for an additional fee.

Our standard turnaround time for analysis and reporting is 10 business days, however, urgent cases can be processed in 5 busniess days (surcharge fee of $300 applies).

All work is carried out to the highest quality standard; as a NATA accredited Forensic Laboratory, ChemCentre is the only laboratory in Western Australia currently accredited for forensic drug analysis and licensed to handle illicit drugs; and is one of only three laboratories in Australia recommended in the Clandestine Drug Remediation Guidelines, set by the Australian Government.

ChemCentre has chosen to align itself with the Australian Government Clandestine Drug Laboratory Remediation Guidelines¹ and the Government of Western Australia Department of Health Guidelines for Notification and Risk Management after Detection of a Clandestine Drug Laboratory (Clan Lab)².

The Guidelines^1,2 suggest that blanks should be taken at regular intervals. In line with our NATA accredited quality assurance system, we have supplied the minimum number of blanks, free of charge, for each of the swab kits.
The Guidelines¹ suggest that at least 5 samples be taken inside a suspect dwelling. Our swab kits are designed to meet these Guidelines. For information on suggested areas to swab please refer to Section 5.2 (p. 11) of the Guidelines.
