Safeguard your brand, employees and the environment by testing and monitoring for Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds (SVOCs) and residues in air, soil or water.
SVOCs are not as volatile as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), SVOCs have higher boiling points than VOCs and are not easily detectable through your sense of smell. Despite the lack of odour these chemicals can still be harmful if exposed through inhalation.
ChemCentre offer testing for a diverse range of semi-VOCs and residues. Below is a list of our most commonly requested suites. If you can’t find what you’re looking for please contact us for more information.
- Nicotine
- Organochlorine pesticides
- Organophosphate pesticides
- Phenols
- Piperazine
- Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)
- Semi Volatile Organic Compound screen
Additionally, ChemCentre is a recognised leader in the detection of trace amounts of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in seawater, sediments and marine life.
While PAHs occur naturally at low levels in the environment and as a result of natural events (e.g. bushfires), a majority of PAH find their way into the marine environment mainly through oil spills, discharges from ships and offshore oil and gas exploration and drilling. High levels of, or prolonged contamination by, PAHs in marine environments can have detrimental impacts on industries, public health and ecology.
ChemCentre is the only Australian laboratory able to provide industry and regulatory clients with timely, accurate testing for very low levels of PAHs in marine sediments (down to 1 μg/kg).
