ChemCentre’s Dr Kathryn Linge has been leading a project to compile the first comprehensive dataset of mine pit lake water quality in Australia and today she shared her findings as part of the Curtin Chemistry Seminar Series.
Analysis of water quality samples from 26 mine pit lakes across WA has provided a ‘time capsule’ of how future systems are likely to behave, providing new insight and information to assist regulators and industry in managing mine closure and environmental impact.
