Thank you to the many visitors who joined us for Open Day 2022 to celebrate and experience chemistry in action!
There was a definite buzz of excitement throughout the day with our staff, partners and volunteers sharing their passion for chemistry and science.
Whether it was the hands-on activities, the laboratory tours, the Talking Science sessions, Pow! Science Show, free soil testing or the liquid nitrogen ice cream, the level of engagement was high!
Tours of ChemCentre’s emergency response vehicle, the WA Police ‘booze’ bus, the ‘clan lab’ decontamination experience, the bomb squad and their robot and the Australian Border Force detector dogs’ demonstration were very popular with the crowd.
Open Day is a highlight of our outreach and education program and provides an opportunity to demonstrate the diverse and important work we do at ChemCentre for the benefit of Western Australia and the community.
Our local hero themed characters representing Environmental Science, Emergency Response, Forensic Science and Analytical Chemistry provided a great introduction to science for the many younger visitors.
We hope you all enjoyed the day and had as much fun as we did! We’d love to hear from you, please follow this link to give your feedback. View the video for a recap of some highlights of the day.
