Our HAZMAT Emergency Response crew was in the spotlight this week when a mysterious object discovered at an isolated beach at Green Heads, north of Perth, attracted international attention.
Our highly-trained HAZMAT experts were called to assist WA Police Force and Department of Fire and Emergency Services investigate the unidentified object after concerns it might be hazardous.
However, after analysis by our experts, it was determined that it was safe and posed no risk to the community.
The unusual looking item is believed to be ‘space debris’ but what it is and its origin are yet to be confirmed.
Our HAZMAT ER personnel are on standby 24/7 and are used to dealing with a variety of challenging situations- but this was a bit out of the ordinary!
