Anti-doping drug testing services
Our Racing Chemistry Laboratory provides comprehensive drug testing services to the WA Turf Club, Trotting Association and Greyhound Racing Authority.
Testing covers the full range of drugs and substances implicated in doping incidents and has been designed to enable the industry to maintain its 'drug free' status.
The laboratory’s methods are constantly updated to ensure that all new medications with doping potential are included and that the latest and most sensitive analytical techniques are applied.
Laboratory officers provide advice to stewards and the industry in general on withholding periods for new drugs and other matters concerning drug detection. An employee testing service for jockeys, reins-persons and racing officials is also available.
ChemCentre's Racing Chemistry Laboratory has a long history of excellence in anti-doping testing and is recognised for its pioneering work in detecting corticosteroids and narcotic analgesics such as etorphine ('Elephant Juice').
