Governor Beazley started his extended visit with an up-close tour of the HAZMAT emergency response van before visiting the forensic chemistry and environmental chemistry areas to hear more about the work done at ChemCentre.
The Governor stopped to meet staff and learn more about some of the special projects being undertaken here including developments in forensic proteomics chemistry and the forensic fibres database, as well as ChemCentre’s role and expertise in petroleum chemistry in relation to a recent oil spill off Geraldton.
ChemCentre Chief Executive Officer, Peter McCafferty said the visit continued the tradition of WA Governors visiting ChemCentre, including Governor Beazley’s most recent predecessor The Hon. Kerry Sanderson AO.
“The visit provided a wonderful opportunity to showcase and share with Governor Beazley the breadth and importance of the work being done by ChemCentre for the State.”
