Chemistry jobs, technician roles and more
At ChemCentre, we play an active role in protecting, enhancing and developing the community through excellence in science, so we don’t simply offer chemical and forensic science jobs. We provide rewarding and challenging careers on the frontline – the opportunity to make a difference.
While our capabilities and services cover a broad range of scientific disciplines, all of our people share common values and motivations. We all value quality, innovation and integrity, from our chemists, laboratory technicians, forensic scientists, biochemists and food scientists to our administrative and professional staff.

When recruiting for ChemCentre staff, our emphasis is on the quality of applicants, their demonstrated competencies and their suitability to our work environment. We’re looking for professionals who share our values of quality, innovation and integrity.
The application process
All ChemCentre jobs are advertised on the Western Australian Government Jobs Board. You’ll find our current vacancies listed here, and you can lodge your job application via the job board too.
After lodging your application, you will be notified that it has been received. All applications will be assessed and you may be requested to attend an interview and/or complete work-related tasks to help determine your suitability for the advertised position.
All ChemCentre recruitment is performed in compliance with the WA Public Sector Commissioner’s Employment Standard.
Please note the following when making your application:
Timeliness is important. Applications must be received by the time and closing date stated in the advertisement. Late applications cannot be accepted.
You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold an appropriate work visa to apply for employment.
If you apply for a short-term contract position (less than six months) you must be available at short notice.

We can only accept unsolicited CVs for unpaid work experience positions and paid vacation work programs.
Five paid work placements are offered every year during the summer holidays (December - February) for university students in their third year or honours year of chemistry.
Placements are advertised on the Curtin, UWA, ECU, Murdoch and Notre Dame jobs boards and/or blackboards. Applications open in November.
To be eligible you must be an Australia Citizen or hold an appropriate working visa.
If you are after a variety of chemistry lab experiences from forensic, to environmental to occupational health and safety and analysis within the laboratory, ChemCentre could be a place to be an intern. In this placement you would help with routine work, maintenance of instruments and assist with method development. You will learn all the steps from sample registration through to reporting, including sample preparation and analysis. There will also be opportunities to work in Sales, HR, Communications and ICT if that is also a focus. This placement will provide you with a unique experience, lots of challenges and give you an opportunity to use the theories and practical skills that you may have learnt at university with a team of people that will make this time memorable.
Open to university students studying chemistry in Australia or internationally.
